About your Procedure

We understand eye surgery can be daunting for some people. Information on this page will help you understand what to expect and prepare you for a better experience.

What to expect.

If it is decided with your surgeon that you need surgery, the reception staff will help to organise this with you. You will need to choose a date and we will give you information on your surgery and also a quote. It is your responsibility to check all item numbers with your private health fund to make sure you are covered for your surgery. If you are self-funded, we will obtain quotes for you.

Once you are booked in for your surgery, you will need to fill out the hospital admission forms (either the paper questionnaire or online). This should be filled out and given to the hospital as soon as possible. We will then ring you two days before your surgery to give you your admission times and also fasting times.

You will need a driver to pick you up from surgery and also you will need someone at home. The hospital will not let you leave in a taxi or if there is no one at home with you.

You will return to see your surgeon for a follow up a few days post your surgery. You will also be given at sheet after your surgery with step by step details on how to look after your eye post surgery.
